Food is more than just sustenance; it's about comfort, connection, and confidence. Our mission is to empower individuals with feeding tubes to meet their nutritional needs in a way that suits them best, fostering independence and strength. We aim to help them feel comfortable nourishing themselves with their feeding tube, even in social settings, so they can fully participate in life's moments.
We support clients over the age of 10 years who use home feeding tubes, including:
New tubies: Nutrition guidance for those with brand-new feeding tubes.
Current tubies: Nutrition support for individuals with existing feeding tubes.
Weaning: Assistance for those looking to gradually reduce their dependence on feeding tubes.
Blenderized feeding or "real food" recipe support: Nutrition support with homemade blended tube feeding formula.
NDIS tubies: As a registered NDIS provider, we understand the NDIS in and out. We write letters of support for tube feeding supplies, weigh scales, blenders, and more.
One question you maybe wondering is, do our dietitians do routine feeding tube changes? Well, we understand that people with feeding tubes require a tube change every 6–12 months or at varying intervals depending on their needs. However, our dietitians do not change feeding tubes in the community. We believe this is best managed by your specialist doctor, general practitioner, local hospital service, or a specialised community nurse to ensure the highest level of safety and care. While some dietitians may offer this service, we choose not to, as we feel the potential risks outweigh the benefits. Instead, we focus on the nutritional and quality of life aspects of tube feeding, which we find more fun anyway! We do ensure that all our clients are connected with the appropriate healthcare professional to support their routine feeding tube changes, so you can rest assured this important aspect of your care will be well set up by us.
